Toshiba has launched two new ultra portable notebooks, Toshiba Satellite U300 and Satellite Pro U300 series. The difference is on the OS, U300 runs on Microsoft Windows Vista Premium edition while U300Pro runs on Windows Vista Business edition. There is no much difference in the design and specs though. The U300 features a metallic onyx-blue casing as well as a silver palm rest inside, while the Satellite Pro U300 comes with a titanium silver casing. Both has weight at under 2kg, and powered by Intel Core Duo processor, a 13.3-inch TruBrite VXGA display, 1.3 megapixel web camera, DVD SuperMulti drive, multi-card reader and WiFi. Oh, the U300 Pro comes with Toshiba hard disc drive protection system with full 3-axis motion to help safeguard the notebook hard drive against possible damage resulting from accidental dropping, impact or vibration.

The Satellite U300 starts at £595, while the Pro U300 is available now from £649 Both prices exclude VAT.
