
Toshiba has announced its entry into the fast and expensive world of solid state disks. The new SSD product features multilevel-cell NAND flash memories, which are designed for notebook PCs. The 1.8-inch disks will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB with a maximum speed of 100MB/s and write speed of 40MB/s.
The disks will be showcased at CES in Las Vegas in January and will be mass produced from the first quarter of next year.
