
Sony has unveiled an SSD based notebook which is equipped with Solid State Disk (SSD) instead of Hard Drive, Sony VAIO TZ18GN. With SSD, the notebook features faster booting speed, lighter weight and longer battery life than existing HDD based one. The 11.1-inch screen display TZ18GN offers 1.15 kg weight and 11.5 hours battery life which is 30 minutes longer than that of HDD notebook. It’s powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1 GB of DDR RAM up to max 2GB, 32GB capacity SSD and running on Windows Vista OS.
It supports 8X DVD Double Layer drive, no Blu-ray drive is not available. Suggested price is 4,299 (USD) which costs 700 (USD) more than 100GB HDD model.
