Sony has unveiled an SSD based notebook which is equipped with Solid State Disk (SSD) instead of Hard Drive, Sony VAIO TZ18GN. With SSD, the notebook features faster booting speed, lighter weight and longer battery life than existing HDD based one. The 11.1-inch screen display TZ18GN offers 1.15 kg weight and 11.5 hours battery life which is 30 minutes longer than that of HDD notebook. It’s powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1 GB of DDR RAM up to max 2GB, 32GB capacity SSD and running on Windows Vista OS.

A new model of VAIO series from Sony, the Sony ultra portable VAIO TZ notebook. It has the screen of 11.1-inch diagonal and less than an inch thick. 2.65 pounds. The battery life is about 4-7.5 hours depending on usage. The notebook is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 processor and up to 2GB of RAM. It supports connectivity such as Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooh, and even access to Sprint’s EV-DO Rev. There is also an ExpressCard slot, SD and Memory Card readers, 2 USB ports, gigabit Ethernet, modem, and a 4-pin IEEE 1394 port.
