Samsung unveiled the first Android mobile phone: Samsung I7500
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has unveiled its first Android-powered mobile phone, the Samsung I7500. The Samsung I7500 is a cutting-edge smartphone, with its slim and compact design at merely 11.9mm thickness, comes with a large and vivid 3.2-inch AMOLED full touch screen and 7.2Mbps HSDPA and WiFi connectivity. Along with supporting a 5-megapixel camera and various multimedia codec formats, the I7500 also provides a long enough battery life (1500mAh) and generous memory capacity up to 40GB (Internal memory: 8GB, External memory: Up to 32GB) to enjoy all the applications and multimedia content.

“Samsung is among the earliest members of the Open Handset Alliance and has been actively moving forward to introduce the most innovative Android mobile phone,” said JK Shin, Executive Vice President and Head of Mobile Communication Division in Samsung Electronics. “With Samsung’s accumulated technology leadership in mobile phone industry and our consistent strategy to support every existing operating system, I believe that Samsung provides the better choices and benefits to our consumers” he added.

ASUS has unveiled the new HSDPA phone based on Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional edition, the ASUS M930W. The design is similar to Nokia E90, with an external screen, a flip open of full QWERTY keyboard, a D-Pad, and another larger screen. The internal screen opens up much like a laptop allowing you to set it at a 90 degree angle if you think you can type on the small keyboard like a computer, or open it up to the full 180 degrees for easy texting on the go. It supports 3G with HSDPA and WiFi connectivity as well. There is also a 3.2MP cam somewhere on the device, presumably on the back.

ASUS has introduced another ultra portable notebook, even smaller form factor than U6 model, the ASUS U2, in 11.1-inch LCD display with impressive specs and elegant design. It is powered by Intel Santa Rosa platform, which is targeted for business professionals. Solid State Disk (SSD) is gaining more popularity. Micron has just announced a new line up of SSDs for computing, enterprise server and networking applications, the Micron RealSSD. The RealSSD Family comes in variety of flavors and features a native-SATA II interface, and a rugged, lightweight plastic casing. The drives sports 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch form factor with storage capacity varing from 32GB to 64GB.

“SSDs are becoming the new storage medium, fundamentally altering the way data is stored,” said Dean Klein, Micron vice president of memory system development. “The storage market is ripe for innovation, and it’s an opportunity Micron is embracing given our expertise in NAND. We know how to manage NAND flash to work best with controllers, allowing us to develop an optimized SSD solution for every application.”

AT&T is getting ready to release the new Motorola Q with integrated GPS (aka known as Moto Q Global). The new 3G Moto Q also features a QWERTY keyboard, 2MP camera, high-speed Internet connection, bluetooth, and microSD card supporting up to 32GB. Just like previous Q?s it is a very slim device packed with features. Integrated GPS is of course what we care most about but you can be certain that AT&T will lock this feature for 3rd party application and only make it available through TeleNav so they can charge you some extra fee.

Toshiba announced 32GB SDHC

After announcing the 8GB microSDHC card and even a massive 16GB full-size SDHC card (launching in October for ¥40,000, about $350), Toshiba is planning for its 32GB SDHC card which is due out on January of next year for ¥80,000. Just imagine how fast it progress.
