Samsung unveiled the first Android mobile phone: Samsung I7500
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has unveiled its first Android-powered mobile phone, the Samsung I7500. The Samsung I7500 is a cutting-edge smartphone, with its slim and compact design at merely 11.9mm thickness, comes with a large and vivid 3.2-inch AMOLED full touch screen and 7.2Mbps HSDPA and WiFi connectivity. Along with supporting a 5-megapixel camera and various multimedia codec formats, the I7500 also provides a long enough battery life (1500mAh) and generous memory capacity up to 40GB (Internal memory: 8GB, External memory: Up to 32GB) to enjoy all the applications and multimedia content.

JVC Everio Series Camcorder for 2009
To stay competition level, JVC unveiled its latest Everio Camcorders which offers innovations in video sharing, dual storage memory and portability. The 2009 JVC Everio line includes the HD Everio series, the standard definition Everio G series models, and the Everio S series of memory camcorders. Emphasize on HD, the JVC HD Everio line all record 1920 x 1080 full HD video. The GZ-HD300, with 60GB hard drive, the GZ-HD320, (with 120GB hard drive), offer HDD storage for extra-long recording times, and the GZ-HM200 offers dual SD card recording, with continuous recording from one card to the next. Philips has launched a new entry level mobile phone in its Xenium series, the Philips Xenium 9@9w. This sleek and slim phone is packed with a classy brushed metal surface. The phone sports a regular keypad, split into four rows with three keys each. This seems to be more of a design consideration rather than a functional one, but to its credit, the metal navigational controls in the middle resemble something straight from the books of Bang & Olufsen. The 9@9w features dual SIM card slots, carry both your personal and business mobile lines within a single device, making it so much easier to take on the road. As trademark of the Xenium range, the 9@9w has a long lasting battery life as well. There are also a 2.0-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot for up to 2GB of extra memory storage. Network features are limited to GPRS and old school WAP, which is expected for such a mainstream device, but still a point to take note of. The 9@9w also packs Bluetooth A2DP as well as USB connectivity.

Lenovo ThinkStation
With partner with AT&T Williams Formula One, Lenovo has launched a new ThinkStation that extends the company’s 15-year-old Think product lineup. The new ThinkStation S10 and D10 workstations offer the ultimate performance and reliability for professionals in the most demanding data and graphics intensive environments, such as computer aided design/engineering, digital content creation, oil and gas exploration and electronic design automation. These workstations further extend Lenovo’s portfolio in the professional computing space.

The ThinkStation dual processor D10 and single processor S10 workstations offer the fastest Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor 5400 series and Intel Core 2 Extreme processor QX9650, respectively with both processors are based on new 45-nanometer manufacturing process that nearly doubles the density of transistors on the chips for new levels of energy-efficient performance, large hard drives and the latest graphics solutions from NVIDIA. They also come equipped with fast connectivity with dual Gigabit Ethernet and multiple slots, bays and USB ports for expandability.

Intel Classmate PC
To provide low cost and rugged PCs for greater education opportunities for the young, Intel has released the Classmate PC. Its design is child friendly and comes with price US$200. With three available colors such as pink, blue and white, it comes in a size that fits perfectly for its younger audience. A leather cover encasing the plastic build of the Classmate PC gives it greater survivability in rugged environments and it also comes with a water resistant keyboard. It features a 7-inch display with 800×480 pixel resolution, which maybe a little restrictive in a Windows environment. The plus point with the Classmate PC though, is its round touch pad mouse which is easy to use and sensitive to the touch.

The Classmate PC is powered by Intel ULV Celeron M 900 MHz, 915 chipset and 256MB of DDR2 RAM, with preloaded Windows XP, it is able to handle itself well on Windows XP, one application at a time. You can have the option to preloaded with Linux (Mandriva Linux). Intel’s aim is to provide the Classmate PC with capabilities that are similar to existing PC architecture, software and usage. Its performance is sufficient for its tasks and loading time was quick since the whole OS is loaded on a 2GB flash module ? no HDDs in here. With extensive usage, the Classmate PC lasted up to 3 hours before we found the battery dried to the core.

The China-based company, CECT, has presented two GSM-CDMA dual-mode cell phones, the CECT T828 and CECT D388 models. The T828 runs on dual-band GSM (900/1800) and single-band CDMA (800) networks, features a 2.0-inch display, a 32MB of onboard memory with microSD/TransFlash media card slot for external storage option, built-in media player (MP3/MP4), GPRS, WAP, SMS/MMS, and a 1.3 megapixel camera module. It measures about 100×40x10 mm and provides up to 72 hours of standby time and up to 6 hours of talktime through a 110mAh Li-Ion battery. While CECT D388 is similar to CECT T828, apart from the design and price.
