Nikon D700 DSLR camera
Nikon has revealed a new D700 Digital SLR camera. The D700 is a semi-professional or amateur, depending on hose the term is defined, with 12.1-megapixel FX-format image sensor (first introduced in the D3) with a sensing area of 36.0 x 23.9 mm. It comes with ISO ranges from 200 to 6400 and it can shoot continuously at up to five frames per second, and up to 8fps with the optional multi-power battery pack MB-D10.
Other advanced capabilities include Nikon’s 51-point AF system and a scene-recognation system for optimum autofocus, auto exposure and white balances. User can also choose from two Live View modes, handheld and tripod. The D700 is compliant with next-generation UDMA Compact Flash cards, and HDMI output - via a Type C mini connnector - is also supported.

Fujifilm has introduced its F-series of FinePix F50fd successor with the latest Fujifilm FinePix F60fd. The FinePix F60fd is packed with 3-inch TFT monitor, 12-megapixel Super CCD sensor, Dual Image Stabilisation (CCD-shift with high ISO), ISO sensitivity of 1600 (6400 at 3 MP), and a Fujinon 3x zoom (35-105mm equivalent). Samsung unveiled a new high resolution wide angle digital camera, the Samsung NV24HD. It features a high 10.2-megapixel resolution with a 24mm ultrawide angle 3.6x optical zoom, a bright 2.5-inch AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) screen which reduces the glare from sunlight. With Samsung’s Dream Engine technology, a rapid image correction so that high quality images can be shot more quickly and clearly. Samsung NV24HD?s video features have been enhanced using the next generation H.264 video standard and support a 1280×720 30fps frame rate to make shooting clear HD quality stereo sound videos possible. It is possible to operate the Samsung NV24HD remotely with a Samsung DTV remote control through Anynet technology.

Sony DPF-V900 digital photo frame
Sony also unveiled its new S-Frame series digital photo frames, the Sony DPF-V900, DPF-V700 and DPF-D70. These new models offer vibrant WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels) along with 15:9 aspect-ratio LCD screens and stylish designs suitable for living room, bedroom or office. Inside the black bezels of these thin frames is an advanced image processor that scales and displays images up to 48 megapixels, making the frames capable of handling photos taken with the most advanced digital cameras. The 7-inch DPF-V700 and 9-inch DPF-V900 digital photo frames have 512MB of internal storage, while the 7-inch DPF-D70 model has 256MB of internal flash memory. In order to maximize internal memory, the models all offer an auto-resizing option that downsizes photos so you can store hundreds within the device and then return your memory card back to the camera. The supported memory cards include Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick PRO Duo, SD Memory Card, MMC, Compact Flash, Microdrive and xD-Picture Card.

All three S-Frame models support JPEG and RAW (SRF, SR2, ARW) image file formats. The DPF-V900 and DPF-V700 frames also support TIFF and BMP file formats. These two models also feature Sony?s Bionz processor with face detection technology for faster processing speeds, as well as in-frame photo correction like focus enhancement, red-eye corrections and exposure adjustment. The three new frames offer convenient features such as 10 slide show variations, clock and calendar views, and two index modes so you can preview several photos at once. You can also conserve energy by using the auto power on/off setting to program when you want the frame to turn on in the morning and off at night. Functions of the digital photo frame can be managed remotely using the included controller.

Marvell has just announced an 802.11n 3×3 WLAN solution with three spatial streams, the industry’s first 802.11n chip operating at 450 Megabits-per-second (Mbps), the Marvell TopDog 11n-450. With maximum bandwidth more than eight times faster than 802.11g 54 Mbps versions and 1.5 times faster than current 802.11n 300 Mbps offerings, the new product will enable significant performance enhancements for notebooks and desktop PCs, printers, routers, set top boxes, digital TVs, gaming devices and DVD players and recorders. The TopDog 11n-450 provides 500 percent increased range over 802.11g, as well as 160 percent increased range compared to competing 802.11n solutions.

“Marvell is first-to-market with an 802.11n 450 Mbps solution so manufacturers can deliver industry-leading wireless range and performance to consumers who are seeking faster and more powerful Wi-Fi capabilities,” said Sameer Bidichandani, senior director of technology strategy, Marvell Semiconductor. “Compliant with the 802.11n specification, the new Marvell TopDog 11n-450 chip also offers Marvell-engineered enhancements to the specification, such as Space-Time Block Coding (STBC), that helps maintain higher throughput over longer distances.”
