LG will demonstrate next generation 1920 x 1080/60p (p=progressive scan) full HD video content at IFA 2007. LG?s next generation full HD TVs can display 60 frames per second at a 1920 x 1080 resolution. These 60p TVs differ from 1920 x 1080/30p TVs that show only 30 frames per second and 1920 x 1080/60i (i = interlaced) TVs that only refresh half the lines of resolution at a time. 60p-capable TVs can display a larger amount of information per second than any other type of televisions. Sixty-frame per second progressive scan technology dramatically reduces moiré effect and image noise, creating sharper images. Moiré effect is an optical illusion that causes the appearance of lines across an image, degrading video quality and resolution.

Toshiba Japan has announced the new LCD TV for REGZA Z3500 series, REGZA FR350 series and REGZA C3500 series, make it a total of 11 new models of Toshiba TVs. The REGZA Z3500 series features a Full HD TVs going from 37 to 57 inches, video (MPEG-2TS) recording thanks to an external HDD through USB or Ethernet, 3 HDMI (1080/24p and 1080/60p support), Power Meta Brain (a MiniPC running on Linux 64 inside the TV) and 10bit LCD panel @120Hz.
