
Samsung has developed trio of LCD displays for use in laptops with some great specifications, which two of them features 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. They come in two sizes: 18.4-inch with 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and 16-inch with 1,366 x 768 resolution. Both of them provides 300 cd/m2 brightness, 90% color saturation, 800:1 contrast, and 8ms response time. As for the third one, it features active White-LED backlighting that boosts picture clarity and reduces power consumption, which great 10,000:1 contrast ratio. It is a 15.4-inch LCD with WXGA 1,440 x 900 resolution, 300nits brightness, 120 degrees viewing angle, and 45% color saturation. Its power consumption is only 2W which is 40 percent less than a typical LED backlight’s consumption.
The first two will be mass produced from the first half of 2008 while the white-LED display will hit production in second half of 2008.
