
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of its powerful multimedia phone, Samsung SGH-F490. The only 11.8mm minimal slim bar with rounded corners and glossy surface looks chic and advanced, adding a pleasure to hold in the hand. The stylish and intuitive ‘Croix UI‘ which has been awarded iF Communication Design Award 2007, involves two bars that cross-hatch, enabling users to enjoy all functions just with tapping and dragging. It features the HSDPA 3.6Mpbs/UMTS/EDGE quadband 900/1800/1900/2100 frequency, a 3.2-inch 16:9 wide full touch LCD with 262k colours, a 5-megapixel camera which enables you to record video in MPEG4 in QVGA at 15fps. The SGH-F490 supports video playback for WMV, MPEG4, H.263, VGA at 30fps, and audio playback for MP3, AAC+, AAC+(e) and WMA format, and there is a standard 3.5mm audio jack to enjoy the music.
The SGH-F490 comes with built-in memory of 130MB and there is a microSD expansion slot. Connectivity wise, there are Bluetooth 2.0(A2DP + AVRCP) and USB 2.0. To support enjoyable Internet browsing, Samsung F490 also embedded the Google Search and optimized full browser for web pages in both vertical and horizontal views.
Samsung SGH-F490 will be available in some European countries from February at around ?530.
