As reported in Unwiredview, Inventec has been working on two UMPCs/MIDs, Inventec UMPC 7-A and UMPC 5-D. Both of them participated in IF Product Design Award 2008 competition and received the awards. Inventec UMPC 7-A has a slider QWERTY keyboard and differentiates itself via curved design, which forms an angle between LCD and table, provides a better view, allows a bigger degree when the LCD is shifted by the user, and also lets the keyboard to be naturally placed in a slanted way. Inventec UMPC 5-D focuses on modular design and comes with an interesting docking station and a set of appliances.
