News like this makes it all the harder for folks who want to purchase an Eee PC now, as they know that across the horizon lies something better, if only they wait for a few more months.

Have you got yourself an Asus Eee Ultraportable PC? With the new upgraded version of Eee PC, you can enjoy a bigger and better flash storage, the new Asus Eee PC 900. Compared to the previous Eee PC, the Eee PC 900 features 1GB of memory instead of 512MB, up to 12GB of storage instead of 4GB, and a wider 8.9-inch LCD screen as compared to 7-inch. The Asus Eee PC 900 will be available in summer this year for around 399 Euro (~$609).

Gigabyte has released two new UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) as shown at CeBIT, the Gigabyte M700 UMPC and Gigabyte M528 UMPC. The M700 is powered by a C7-M VIA CPU at 1.2GHz with 2GB of RAM. It features a 7-inch touchscreen LCD display with 1024×600 pixel resolution, and comes with 40GB or 60GB HDD (1.8-inch), and runs on Windows Vista Home Premium Edition. On the other side, the M528 is a Linux based device which is powered by a Centrino Atom CPU at 800MHz with 512MB of RAM. It features a 4.8-inch touchscreen LCD with 800×400 pixel resolution, HSDPA, 3-megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth and also a keyboard.

As reported in Unwiredview, Inventec has been working on two UMPCs/MIDs, Inventec UMPC 7-A and UMPC 5-D. Both of them participated in IF Product Design Award 2008 competition and received the awards. Inventec UMPC 7-A has a slider QWERTY keyboard and differentiates itself via curved design, which forms an angle between LCD and table, provides a better view, allows a bigger degree when the LCD is shifted by the user, and also lets the keyboard to be naturally placed in a slanted way. Inventec UMPC 5-D focuses on modular design and comes with an interesting docking station and a set of appliances.

Raon Digital has unveiled a new UMPC in Korea market, the EVERUN Wibro (coded S60H Wibro in Korea market). The EVERUN Wibro features a AMD LX900 processor with 60GB HDD. It is the upgraded version of the previous EVERUN model by adding Wibro wireless internet module. The previous model used to connect a modem through USB port, but this one has built-in Wibro module and allows users to get subsidy from KT.
