Marvell has announced that its Marvell PXA310 application processor is the processor to power the recently announced premium Samsung i780 smartphone. The Samsung i780 also features Marvell’s industry leading WLAN solutions with Marvell’s 88W8686 WLAN chip. Marketed in major European countries, the Samsung i780 has a sleek design packed with the latest in business and consumer with great features including global positioning system (GPS) navigation, fast HSDPA and EDGE connectivity, Bluetooth, full touch screen with stylus, QWERTY key pad, Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional operating system, 2.0-megapixel camera and a front camera for video calls. The PXA310 processor also delivers full Internet browsing, MP3 music and FM radio.

NVIDIA has again made another breakthrough by introducing its new platform for mobile devices that will change the way of current market smartphones, the NVIDIA APX 2500. The APX 2500 is a applications processor that enables intuitive 3D user interfaces and engaging high-definition video on connected Windows Mobile phones.

ASUS has unveiled the new HSDPA phone based on Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional edition, the ASUS M930W. The design is similar to Nokia E90, with an external screen, a flip open of full QWERTY keyboard, a D-Pad, and another larger screen. The internal screen opens up much like a laptop allowing you to set it at a 90 degree angle if you think you can type on the small keyboard like a computer, or open it up to the full 180 degrees for easy texting on the go. It supports 3G with HSDPA and WiFi connectivity as well. There is also a 3.2MP cam somewhere on the device, presumably on the back.

Quickoffice has announced a multi-year agreement with Sony Ericsson that includes the Quickoffice software platform on all future Sony Ericsson smartphones. Customers has easy access to their native Microsoft Office files and will be able to open, view, edit and create documents directly from their Symbian UIQ smartphones, like the Sony Ericsson P1i smartphone. In addition to the view-and-edit version of Quickoffice Premier, Quickoffice will also provide Quickmanager, which allows users to upgrade their on-device software over-the-air, and provides mobile consumers and business professionals with the latest applications.
