
Mitsubishi has unveiled its latest generation of the Diamond Crystal Wide LCD panel, the Mitsubishi RDT222WM-S. This 22-inch LCD panel features a WSXGA+ resolution, 1000:1 contract ratio and 300cd/m2 brightness. In connectivity wise, it supports DVI-D HDCP and D-SUB, also HDMI input.

Sony has launched its professional 52-inch Full HD LCD display, the Sony GXDL52H1 Full HD LCD. It features the full 1920×1080 resolution, and as Sony’s first full HD LCD display for the digital signage market, use in shopping malls, railway stations, airports, and even hospitals. The display also has some unique features not typically seen in living room LCD’s including heat management based on internal air circulation, which eliminates the need for ventilation holes, protecting the display from dust, an anti-failure backlight system, built-in and invisible speakers, and HDSDI compatibility. The GXDL52H1 also has a protective glass screen to protect the display from damage in busy consumer environments, and it can be replaced without taking the display off its mounting.

NEC has released a 30-inch professional LCD display to the market, the NEC MultiSync LCD3090WXQi. This LCD provides innovative display performance for users in the graphic design, photography, print production, and CAD/CAM industries. The LCD3090WQXi features ColorComp, which reduces LCD uniformity errors, and compensates for differences in color/grayscale and luminance, and advanced backlight technology, which enables the display to produce 102 percent of the NTSC color scale for unsurpassed color gradation. The design has been focused on transportability, style and practicality, which were built using the Sony 3P (Product, Process, Planet). It sports 92 percent NTSC gamut, a 10-bit gamma correction mechanism that minimizes banding and ensures color gradients are smoothly rendered, and a 16:10 aspect frame which showcases two letter-size (A4) pages side by side with additional room for palettes and toolbars. Samsung has developed a new 31-inch active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) screen. AMOLEDs, which emit light when electricity is applied to organic materials, produce brighter and clearer images than liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and plasma display panels (PDPs). Global screen makers are scrambling to develop AMOLED products, with Sony’s 27-inch AMOLED screen being the largest one developed until now.
