Sony announced its plans to release new firmware for its PlayStation 3 video game console, PS3 Firmware 2.20. PlayStation 3 users would be expecting a firmware update on their consoles to enhance the capabilities of its existing Blu-ray player. The updated firmware enables Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0, or BD-Live, to be supported on the PS3. BD-Live enables Blu-ray Disc makers to incorporate additional interactive features including downloadable video content, ringtones, games and more.

For Sony PS3 owner, it is a good news for you. Sony has just released the new firmware version 2.10 for PS3. What can you enjoy from it is the DivX and WMV compatibility, whether you play it from HDD or network (DLNA), the BluRay profile goes up to 1.1. There are still some limitation though, like unsupported from DivX 3.11, DRM WMV and files over 2GB, but it is still worth to update it.

With the Christmas season nearer, people are getting gift for their love ones, and game console becomes one of the choice. Sony has introduced its cheaper, backward incompatible 40GB PS3 not long ago, and it boosts in sales, partly thanks to the shortage in supply of Nintendo Wii during the upcoming holiday season. Nonetheless, we feel that Sony’s sales figures are picking up not solely due to the Wii shortage, but more towards its popularity with high-definition gaming and Blu-ray support.

Good news for Nintendo DS owner. Nintendo has released a lovely add-on equipment for Nintendo DS, the 1Seg TV Tuner. This little device allows you to watch satellite broadcast TV programme, anytime, anywhere in Japan. The lower screen of Nintendo DS is used as controller for the TV. This little one really catches my eyes.
