Lenovo ThinkStation
With partner with AT&T Williams Formula One, Lenovo has launched a new ThinkStation that extends the company’s 15-year-old Think product lineup. The new ThinkStation S10 and D10 workstations offer the ultimate performance and reliability for professionals in the most demanding data and graphics intensive environments, such as computer aided design/engineering, digital content creation, oil and gas exploration and electronic design automation. These workstations further extend Lenovo’s portfolio in the professional computing space.

The ThinkStation dual processor D10 and single processor S10 workstations offer the fastest Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor 5400 series and Intel Core 2 Extreme processor QX9650, respectively with both processors are based on new 45-nanometer manufacturing process that nearly doubles the density of transistors on the chips for new levels of energy-efficient performance, large hard drives and the latest graphics solutions from NVIDIA. They also come equipped with fast connectivity with dual Gigabit Ethernet and multiple slots, bays and USB ports for expandability.

Gateway One PC unveiled

Gateway has introduced the Gateway One PC, it is a Mac-alike machine which only requires one cable, plus it uses wireless peripherals making your desktop more elegant. The 19-inch widescreen display provides 1400 x 900 resolution, 850:1 contrast ratio and less than 8ms response time. It also houses integrated speakers (based on NXT SoundVu technology) and a power button. As reported previously, it comes in three models: two online and one retail. All of them includes dual layer DVD burner, up to 4GB RAM, 802.11a/b/g/n wireless, TV Tuner, an infrared Media Center remote control, and Windows Vista Operating System.

The “industry’s slimmest and most stylish computers yet” comes with decent specifications so could be a good buy for fashion conscious prosumers. “Gateway One exemplifies the idea of simplicity, of less is more,” said Gary Elsasser, Gateway’s senior vice president of products. “This computer complements its environment and becomes a design element you want to show off as much as you want to use. Because it doesn’t compromise on features or performance, it will be appreciated for its brains as well as its beauty.”
